The Ferry
10/2016
New Performance Turku Festival, Turku, FI

I spent three days from the opening until the closing time (6.15-21.00 = apx 15hrs per day) on the board of a small ferry boat in Turku, Finland. The provisional boat replaced temporarily Föri, an old ferry that has been serving between the two shores of the Aura river since 1904 and is an important symbol of the city.

I set a rule for myself not to leave the boat, with the only exception of using a service toilet. While onboard, aside to fighting the low temperatures, I was interacting with the passengers, reading, sleeping, eating etc.
