Forest

The Forest was a physical theatre performance created in Russia with the international group of actors (coming from all across the Russia and former Soviet union, Austria, Germany, Chile and other countries) directed by Dmitriy Melkin with the support of Lina Langer. Loosely inspired by Aristoteles’ writings and other literary sources The Forest/Лес was by a decision missing a definite narrative. It brought archetypal images of men and women relating to the spiritual powers of the nature. There is no gallery selected or the gallery was deleted.
From the beginning the project was meant to be presented in different public spaces of the central Moscow (Столешников переулок, Кузнецкий мост, Камергерский переулок). Each day the whole set with the light and sound equipment had to be built again and performers had to adapt to the different conditions.
