Cycling Around Victory Square
6/2021, Remembrance / Body of History, Prague, CZ

During four hours, I cycled around Victory Square in Prague 96 times. The circular square designed by Antonín Engel in the 1920s is a significant urban intersection, a meeting place, and a characteristic element of the Prague 6 – Dejvice district. The square is due to undergo a significant reconstruction in the near future. Through my concentrated presence and minimalist repetitive action, I articulated the current form of the square. I chose the number of repetitions based on the number of years that have passed since the square was built (1925-2021).

The performance was presented under the framework of the collective performance event “Remembrance / Body of History” curated by Darina Alster.
