Carrying Water #1
7/2020 Leonidio, GR
I walked from the Leonidio village to the sea (Lakkos beach) – that is, approximately 4-5km – inside of the Dafnon riverbed. I have carried with me a canister filled with water that was dripping from it during the walk. With this gesture, I was symbolically bringing the water back to the dried-out river.
The performance was realized as part of the residency undertaken at Pánjika Cooperative with Maria Komarova.

The second time I was carrying water in Leonidio was during the exhibition opening at Pánjika cultural space. Whilst with the first performance I aimed to articulate a specific part of Leonidio land- an urban-scape, the loosely connected second part did not convey a particular meaning.
The performance was realized as part of the residency undertaken at Pánjika Cooperative with Maria Komarova.
